Wrong thread - that should be in the Lies thread. Don't forget my faultless memory now. I can find that thread if you like - and even if you don't.

The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.
I can see November from my house.

Hey Ced, have you seen the adverts for that SE Texas Paranormal convention?
Yeah, I've seen the adds. I sent an e-mail to the organizer to find out more details, and I wasn't impressed with the answers. It appears to be an actual "convention", the sort where fans get to pay big admission fees to see their favorite TV stars, get autographs, and buy expensive promo stuff. Very little to do with the paranormal. Sad thing is, with a convention going on so close, it will make it a lot tougher to get an actual conference going around here.

yeah, that is pretty much what I thought too. The pictures of the "guest stars" were hokey and off-puting.

I was slapped down by one of the biggest frauds in the field, so I'm pretty much a fraud-hater.
Just be upfront...tell the people what it is..and let them decide....That's not hard.

I just want to know, when are "people" in this field going to realize that when you present yourself in bizarre clothes, or trying to look all wierd and mystical, or all decked out like a redneck soldier in a bad "B" movie, the general public is going to think you are a wackjob and you do more damage to this field than good???!!! The pictures have psychics trying to look all intense and mythic, like they are trying to crap out that sideways 2x4 they shoved up their a$$es, or the Bigfoot research that looks like he spends his time running around a farmyard yelling "Squeal like a pig, boy." Or better yet the paranormal researcher guys/girls that dress all gothic and wear all black pagan clothes and try to look supernatural. Ya'll look like f'n retards and you are making the rest of us look bad. Stop it. And conventions, please, please, PLEASE hire a professional photographer & stylist and stop putting tarded pictures like that on the flyers. No wonder that even the Trekkies look down on us and giggle.
